About the Project

Newsletter Archive: Issue 10 - May 2003

Oral History

The first Oral History course has begun at Edmondsley. The Oral History course has proved to be very popular so if you would like to participate on one of the courses please get in touch with Sheila Forster. We also need volunteers who are willing to be interviewed by either one of our team or by people on our courses. Anyone who has memories of mining life in Durham, either as a miner, a miner's wife, or as a child/grandchild of a miner would make a good interviewee. Again if you are interested please contact Sheila Forster.

Message Board

You may have noticed that we have changed the name of our guestbook to "Message Board". We welcome messages from local history organisations about their meetings and any other information they would like to make available or exchange with each other. Of course we still welcome any comments about our website or the project. There are several messages on the message board already, some from faraway places, so please have a look.

Digitisation

The digitisation continues and we hope to have some of the research projects on the website soon. We are also digitising the timelines completed by people on level one courses, and will inform you when these are made available. You can check for examples of the types of research projects that have been completed by looking at our completed courses page.
