(( CountyWide -- Durham County Council's Newspaper for County and Community ))

Countywide is Durham County Council's newspaper for the residents of County Durham.
Reaching up to half a million people in the County and packed with stories, events, and information, and is an easy way to find out about local issues that are important to you.
Countywide is published every two months and is delivered to each household in the County.
It is also available from libraries, County Hall and Council offices throughout Durham.
The newspaper is a response to the County Council's Comprehensive Performance Assessment in 2002 which noted that the Council needed to improve its communications so that local people have a better understanding of the Council and what it has achieved. You can view an electronic version of the newspaper   .
You will be taken to another web page where you can get an overview of the contents of that issue and also view selected articles. Countywide will further promote openness and transparency in Council affairs and better public access to more relevant and timely information. The cost of producing and distributing the newspaper is paid for by savings made from other publications previously produced by the Council. You can also use the search facility in the navigator bar to find editions of Countywide covering a specific issue that you are interested in.
