Community Information

Durham County Council Community Information Database provides a variety of useful information about many aspects of life in County Durham.

  Find Information about: Education Childcare Health Disability Provision Social Care Sports Clubs and Facilities Community Centres Churches and Religious Groups Hobbies Youth Groups Choirs Theatre Groups General Interest Groups Most of the information is about the county but where it is helpful information about regional or national organisations has also been included.
This database is managed Social Services, ( including Directions) and Cultural Services and the information is regularly reviewed, however, we do rely on the organisations listed telling us if there have been changes since we last contacted them.
We do make every effort to maintain the database but we cannot accept liability for any inaccuracy in the information provided to us.

  This information is also available in T libraries in County Durham   and a number of touch screen versions are in T He alth and Social Services Facilities   and Job Centres around the county. If you have information that you would like to see added to this database, please contact your nearest library or social services office who will be happy to pass the information on.
Alternatively send your details to Social Services   or Cultural Services   . The T Directions Information Service   is a telephone help line which can provide you with information on a wide range of subjects.
They hold over 200 subject headings from specialist holidays to support groups and clubs.

The service provides detailed information to members of the public on everything to do with childcare.
For example, the service holds information on all childcare services available in County Durham, which includes information on childminders, nurseries, playgroups, out of school clubs and much more.
