The Information and Community Projects Team is part of Durham County Council's
Culture and Leisure Service and currently looks after two inter-related
community ICT projects:
The Learning Network Project
Durham Online Initiative
All of the projects aim to give the people of County Durham the confidence and
skills to use technology, access information, seek advice and guidance and be
given the opportunity to progress from basic ICT on to accredited training.

of the projects work in partnership with other appropriate organisations and

The Learning Network Project provides further educational opportunities for
residents of Derwentside.
The project involves Return to Learn, Durham County
Council and Derwentside College.
Through this partnership, training is
delivered in basic skills and family learning, ICT and a range of other
subjects.
The project is funded by the Single Regeneration Budget and works in a number
of libraries, community centres and village halls across Derwentside.
