Theatre First presents The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr Benn Monday 20th October 10.30 am & 1.30pm As if by magic..... Step through the door of an ordinary costume shop and into the world of extraordinary adventures. One of the most popular children's characters of all times makes his stage debut in this magical new show for anyone who has ever wanted to be somebody else. The shop keeper appeared! (( Mr Benn )) Puppet Lab presents 'Each Peach Pear Plum...' Monday 15th December at 10.30 am & 1.30pm Using an original score, and beautifully crafted puppets this show for 3-7year olds features all of the best-known nursery rhyme characters in a game of 'I-spy'.

An enchanting tale of magic and mystery.
Snap Theatre's production is a traditional blend of story-telling with puppetry, stunning visual effects and original music.

(( Starlight )) NTC presents Alex and the Warrior Saturday 31st January at 2.00pm Be careful what you wish for.
It might just come true. It is Chirstmas Eve, a magical time when wishes are suppossed to be granted.
Alex wishes his favourite computer game character could step through the screen and bring his grandad home from the hospital in time for Christmas.
When the Warrior appears, bringing with him a large sword and a lot of attitude, Alex begins to wonder what he has let himself in for.
So begins a journey as Alex, his cat and The Warrior head through the Christmas streets, unaware that something else has stepped out of the game behind them.
Alex and his cat try to keep the Warrior under control as he discovers fast food, karaoke and Christmas shopping and, all the while, the hunters are closing in. A quest full of magic and danger, music and laughter.
Dickens meets the Terminator in this modern Christmas fairytale for all the family. Tickets: �5/�4 concessions


Krafty Kids Visit the T Krafty Kids   page and check out what events are planned this season and what the kids have been up to in the Junior Library. Themed art and craft activities for children at Bishop Auckland Town Hall aimed at 8 - 12 year olds. (under 8's may attend if accompanied by an adult) Saturdays, 10am - 12noon Tickets �2 must be purchased in advance Session 1: 'Banners Galore' 3 Saturdays: 27th September and 4th & 11th October Start preparations early for Bishop Auckland Town Hall's 10th Birthday in October and begin by helping Sue Abel create colourful banners to be hung outside the building as part of our birthday celebrations. Session 2: 'Party Time' 2 Saturdays: 18th & 25th October Spend the first session preparing to party.
Get into the party spirit by creating your own mask to wear at the 10th birthday party on 25th October.
Look forward to an extra special birthday party with games, face painting and balloons! Session 3: 'The Pied Piper' 6 Saturdays: 1st November until 6th December "'Come in', the Mayor cried, looking bigger, and in did come the strangest figure." Listen to Eileen Glenton recount the story of the Pied Piper.
Make props and costumes with the help of Sue Abel and finally showcase your work with family and friends. All regular Kids' Club sessions: �2 Entry is by ticket only.

Santa's Grotto From Monday 8th until Wednesday 24th December. 10.00am - 4.00pm Once again the cellar area of the McGuinness Gallery will be transformed into a winter wonderland with Santa's Grotto, comlpete with post-box, for those special Christmas letters for Father Christmas
