Business Rates

Business rates are collected by your local District Council and then paid into a national 'central pool'.

The contents of which are redistributed to all billing authorities in proportion to the number of Business Rates payers in an area. This together with the Council's income from Council Tax, and the Central Government Revenue Support Grant, is the main way that the Council finances the services it provides.
